It felt like walking through a tropical forest, stepping on old woods, smelling the dumpy air, and listening to the noises of winds, branches and unknown animals. It felt like a journey, where we expect the unexpected, be excited with what to come and at the same time scared of what would happen next.
That’s how I felt during this modern piece composed by a German composer Karlheinz Stockhuisen; Kontakte, which was the opening act of the Rumor Festival last night. According to info from the festival’s website, he was the pioneer of modern music and also the source of inspiration for Frank Zappa and the Beatles. Due to its level of difficulty, Kontakte was rarely performed, but Ralph van Raat (piano) and Arnold Marinissen (percussion) were doing a great job.

With respect to lighting, everything was pretty easy, I guess this is the plus point of Theather Kikker. But I set my ISO to 1250 anyway, opened my aperture to 2-2.2 with speed around 1/80 to 1/100, so I could have the control over the DOF.
But, enjoying this piece that lasted for about an hour demanded a high concentration, so it seemed to be impossible to walk around and shoot from different angles. Too bad.
