I think it is always impossible to place a person only in one box. There are no simple boxes to place me in. My name is Irene Hadiprayitno, was born in Indonesia and currently is residing in Utrecht, the Netherlands. Daily I am working as a researcher, but I spend my spare time enjoying two things I am very interested in: photography and music. With greenpixels.nl I would like to present my combined passions in a website.
I shot my first music photography in October 2007. It was a variety band show open for all international students in Utrecht. The location was unimaginably dark and it was unexpectedly difficult, but I am still hooked.
While photographing, I work with available lighting since I prefer to preserve the unique atmosphere of the stage. I carefully consider the composition of the photo, pay attention to the motions of the performer and patiently wait for exceptional moments that can describe a musical performance. Simply because my aim is to deliver a picture that captures all emotions and I know that a good picture can communicate the power of the music itself.
Currently I am contributing as photographer for 3voor12/Utrecht and Jazzenzo. You can also see some of my work on bands’ official websites, namely Sensuàl, Number Nine, Furlong and Orfeo.
I welcome assignments related to music photography anywhere around Utrecht or Amsterdam. I would love to cover live shows and do promo shots for both bands or publications. But don’t worry, any photographic services are also available upon request. Check out the contact page to get in touch.
Please enjoy my work and thank you for viewing.
