Holly Golightly is a british singer-songwriter who is also a former member of the Three Headcoates. In 2006 she also gave a concert at the same venue, Ekko, but this year she brought Lawyer Dave and they are now called Holly Golightly and the Brokeoffs.

When Alela Diane plays her guitar you can hear the dynamic, when she sings you will know that she definately know what she is singing. Alela Diane a singer-songwriter originated from Nevada City, California is not new for the Dutch audience. The organizer of the Utrecht Jazz Festival was certainly saving the best for last. As the most anticipated concert of this 5 days festival, Michael Borstlap, supported by Boudewijn Lucas (bass guitar), Erik Kooger (drums) and Sanne van Hek (trumpet), is one of the biggest names that confirmed the quality of what is widely called by media as the Dutch Jazz Festival.

Coming all the way from Chicago, the quartet delivered a soulful performance on the third day of the Utrecht Jazz Festival. Their composition sounds somehow blues to me. Sometimes it seemed they don't belong together but certainly right on. So you can certainly enjoyed the powerful solo and improvised collaboration.
