One thing that makes music photography so great is that I can discover new bands, new faces, and new tunes during my work. Being able to see Scouting for Girls is one of those things. This band might be already famous in their home country, UK, but to me the name was so unfamiliar till I did some little research (involving some googlings) before I went to Ekko to photograph their show.

Ruby Q is a pop band whose stories began in Tilburg. Just recently they tried their luck in the US by releasing a record entitled FashionFever/MusicPitch. They're music is a combination of pop, rock and bit of punk.

The theme for the March Cultural Sunday was 'Kleine Parade' or small carnaval and as usual, Utrecht was pampered by qualified performances, and wrapped up with a Tribute to Prince Concert at Tivoli, featuring Anneke van Giersbergen; Wouter Hamel; Hadewych Minis; Senna; Boris; Charlie Dée; Tjeerd Bomhof.

With a choir vocal style, Number Nine opened their performance at the Oude Pothuys Café, in Utrecht last night. Number Nine is an aspiring band, established in 2006. So far they have won the Public Prize Award of the Geheim van Babylon (8 December 2007) and the Ijsselpop award (28 December 2007).
